UPDATE: eek! That page has gone away, but never fear, the Shockwave file is still out there to enjoy, just do a Google search for smb_super_synth.swf. I found it here, here and here.

Someone has made a Flash page where you can replay all the audio from the NES (Nintendo 8-bit console) game, Super Mario Brothers! So fun, those sounds, especially the background music, is just burned into my brain. Funny, just this week I converted a Super Mario sound theme from Adium (available for download here) to work with Gaim! It’s a ton of fun. Here’s hoping that the Nintendo Revolution will allow us to download and play the original classics like this, as others are claiming that it will do just that.

oh man. I simply must check that out. Sadly, my 8-bit that I’ve had hooked up since the summer has recently died — so I was wicked excited when I was in EB games on Friday and found a gamecube promo disc (that wasn’t supposed to be for retail sale) with the original Zelda, Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. Then I got home and found out they put the wrong disc in the box, but that’s another story. ::grumble, grumble:: As for hockey… well. I’ve never been a big Wayne fan. Can I admit I wouldn’t mind a little bit of a scandal? I know, I know, I’m a heathen, but Mario’s got my heart. I know what you mean about the strike, though! I thought I was going to die without hockey, but this year it just hurts too much to really watch. I remember the good old days, back in second grade, when we were Cup champs… ::sigh::

Amy – A video of the a capella nintendo themes? I had to hit Google, and came away with this link of the fun. Amazing, when they did the mushroom power, that was amazing, and then the Zelda theme…damn, this makes me want…no, need to buy Super Mario World 3 for my daughters Gameboy.
