the national front disco is one of my favorites, so i was glad he played it here, too. yeah, what's happened to the backyard is a disappointment. the show was still great, but the surroundings just weren't quite the same. and i'm still bitter about that cancelled show (and the non-refundable service charges connected to it). the last time we'd seen him was back in 93 or 94, i think, at a neat theater in san antonio. we sat in the balcony.

Glad you got to see him, when he canceled the Austin appearance a few years back it was a heart breaker, and I love the Backyard as a venue (although it sounds as if it's in the middle of a mall now...) Yeah, he made it worth the wait for me, haven't enjoyed a concert that much in years. Highlights for me included The National Front Disco and You’re Gonna Need Someone On Your Side (as a closer no less!). Still, opening with The Queen Is Dead shocked me, yeah, I teared up.
